Multisport Championship 2023: Standard Duathlon
Sun 22 Oct 2023
After a successful event last year we again decided to hold the final event in Barcombe, finishing off with a pub lunch at the Anchor Inn. The event is based around the old Ringmer Duathlon course, adapted by Liz to ensure everyone sticks together. Transitions are neutralised so we don't get too dispersed, with everyone starting each discipline together. This is a popular event with more members participating in this one than any of the other multisport championship races.
The result was academic as the two leaders in the mens and women competitions could not be caught. However, the male winner here was Alex Bonzi and female Erica Martin. Well done both, and everyone who took part and helped support, watch bikes and bags making the event so enjoyable.

European Sprint and Standard Distance Duathlon
Sat 17 Sep 2022
Erica Martin and Nina Atherton once again performed superbly to come 4th and 6th respectively in their age groups at the competitive European Sprint Duathlon Championships.
The following day Nigel Lambe, racing for Ireland completed the Standard Distance Duathlon, his first international level race. He said 'today was just about finishing, I pulled some ligaments 4 weeks ago and haven't been able to do any training and was just hoping it would hold together which it did. It was my first race for Ireland, which was amazing'.
Well done all three of you, representing your countries at European level.
