Virgin London Marathon
Sun 24 Apr 2016
An impressive turnout by Phoenix and, for most of them, targets met. The number of PBs is a fair indication. Its inevitable that the runners will be looking at their times and wishing they could have ducked under the hour or half hour but just bear in mind that the winner missed the world record by a lousy eight seconds! If you've been missed or need to amend your result or add PB, or have some photos we could use, contact brightonphoenixmedia@gmail.com
Well done everyone

Brighton Half Youth Races

Well done to the Phoenix youngsters who ran this increasingly popular and competetive adjunct to the half marathon. There are some very impressive performances here with Phoenix figuring well in the leading groups. The distance is one road mile.
Because club names are missing in the results we may not have spotted some of you. Just email Andrew Haig and we'll update the results.

Brooks Sussex Cross Country League Race 4: Hickstead
Sat 13 Feb 2016
The final race of the Sussex XC league took place at a very, very muddy Hickstead showground - a difficult course to hit any sort of pace. Phoenix returned with a number of team and individual awards: silver for the U13 girls with an individual bronze for Alice Wright; bronze for the U15 girls with an individual silver for Almi Nerurkar; and a win in the second division and promotion to first division for the Senior women. In the senior men's race Ross Skelton and Josh Guilmant came first and second but had not run the three races required to qualify for league awards. Finally in the veteran men class, the team won a bronze and Dave Carter an individual silver in the over 40s, Paul Whelpton a gold in the over 60s for the second year running, and Andrew Haig gold in the over 70s.
