    Devil's Dyke Trail Challenge

    Wed 22 Jun 2011

Three Phoenix members ventured to Devils Dyke on Wednesday evening in the wind to take part in the Southdowns Orienteering event. All are new to this branch of running. We all opted for the longer course.

Andrew Neighbour came a very good 5th in 47:41
Elana Moore and Liz Halliday took it at a more liesurely club run sort of pace and finished in 1:09:24 and 1:09:26 respectively.

    Worthing 10K

    Wed 8 Jun 2011

It was the wind wot won it. The new out-and-back course meant an initial wind-assisted 5k followed by the return leg into the teeth of a fierce and unrelenting gale. Not surprisingly times were a bit down but 621 finished this popular Grand Prix race on an otherwise warm, sunny evening. The race was won in 33:00 by Matt Dunigan of Worthing and District Harriers. Congratulations to our two prize winners Josh and Terry.
