SEAA Cross Country Championships

Stanmer Park hosted this major championship event and Phoenix runners did not disappoint - including a superb 6th in the U15s for Almi Nerurkar and an entertaining duel between stars Ben Tickner and Jon Pepper. Ben ended up winning the event for the second time, with Jon taking Bronze. Congratulations oon the Senior men and U13 Boys teams which both came 10th in the team event.
There was also a big effort from Brighton Phoenix marshalls, led by Bruce Warren who spent the whole day supporting the event.

Phoenix was out in force at the Master's Cross Country, with the men earning team medals in the O40, O50 and O60 categories. Paul Whelpton again showed he's the man to beat in the O60 group by pulling off another individual win.

Phoenix runners recorded some fantastic results at the county championships, including a team victory for the senior men, a second place for the u15 girls team, a fourth county championship win for Jon Pepper (3 seconds ahead of Ben Tickner who came second in the race) and wins for Almi Nerurkar and Billy White.

SEAA Masters Cross Country Championships 2014

Fantastic running from Phoenix over 60s in the Championships that were held in Oxford. Paul Whelpton won a bronze in the O60 class and Brighton Phoenix earned silver in the team standings. They were also 13th overall in their race which included all Masters aged 50 and upwards.
