    The latest instalment of the Sussex Grand Prix series saw Paul Whelpton continuing to be top dog in the V60 category. Also of note was Will Russell's top U20 placing and Terry Avey's third place in the V60.

    Guernsey Graniteman is a half-ironman race (1.9k swim; 56 mile bike; 13.1 mile run) held every two years with a maximum of 100 entrants.  Seasoned middle-distance triathlete Anita Jones coming back from injury and newbie Jim Whitelegg, who has been progressing through tri distances all year, represented Phoenix.  Many congratulations to both.  Their race reports on the Phoenix Facebook page are well worth a read

    Commonwealth Youth Games

    Phenomenal stuff from our two young athletes competing in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa. Archie Davis took an excellent fourth place in the 1500m, while Toby Harries won both his heats in fast times.  His silver medal in the final was won in a wind-assisted 20.56 (w+2.6), exactly the same time as the gold medal winner.

    Archie also stepped up to the plate as a late sub for the sprint relay team, helping England to 4th place.
