Congratulations to all who finished the marathon this year. The weather was less then idea with some tough winds to contend with along the seafront! Regardless, it was good to see that Hildi Mitchell didn't have to help someone across the finish this year!!
I also must apologies in advance as the results system on the Brighton Marathon Website does not allow me to sort by Club and also does not give positions by chip time so your result on here might not match what you have received by text! Congratulations to Paul Thomas and Charlotte Matthews for competing in the BTF Elite Duathlon Championships on the 30th March. This was a big step up for Charlotte who was one of the youngest there, qualifying by only three months.

Hastings Half Marathon/County Champs/mini mile

Eight Phoenix runners contested the Sussex Half Marathon Championships at Hastings and three of us walked away with trophies. Not a bad return. With conditions on the windy side there are some fine performances here.
Bruce Warren continued his great run of form coming 22nd overall in 1:19:57 giving him first in his category (M50-54) and county gold. Tom Farsides was 58th and third in the same category and took county bronze. He ran 1:24:55. Terry Avey was 409th and 7th in his category (M60-64) but those ahead were not eligible for county positions and he took gold in a time of 1:38:10.

Erica Martin was joined by Karthryn Harnett and Paul Thomas for her first duathlon of the season. Unfortunately Erica just missed out of a podium finish by just over 2 mins. In the short course Kathryn had a great race and finished 3rd in her cat!
