Brooks Sussex Cross Country League Race 3: Lancing
Sat 5 Dec 2015
Part 3 of the league saw some more fine performances, and another good turnout despite the wind. It was great to see some new faces joining in with the fun.
Notable results include Milly Dickinson's 2nd place (U13 girls), Almi Nerurkar's 3rd (U15 girls), Elishka Coupar's 2nd (U17 women), Ollie Jonhson's win (U17 men) and Dave Carter's 3rd (O40 men). All of these are in a good position to win a medal after the final race in February.
Team standings are also looking very healthy, with most teams climbing up the rankings, in some cases with two teams in the top ten in a given class. This goes to show the importance of consistent turn out. With a strong showing in the final race, the U13 girls, U13 boys, U15 girls, U17 men, and O40 men should all be challenging for team medals, and the senior women should seal a win in their division.

Brooks Sussex Cross Country League Race 2: Bexhill
Sat 21 Nov 2015
Bitter cold and strong winds for the second league race at Bexhill - but we weren't put off. Almi Nerurkar's U15 win and Dave Carter's 2nd v40 placing put them in with a good chance of individual medals, and the U13 Girls, U17 Men, and Veteran men's teams are all now in medal positions after 2 races. Meanwhile the Senior women are well placed to win promotion to the top division.

Brooks Sussex Cross Country League Race 1: Goodwood
Sat 17 Oct 2015
A big turnout for the first race of the League, especially among the women and girls' teams; it was great to see a few XC first-timers too. There were a number of stand-out performances: a 1-2-3 in the U13 girls race for Milly Dickinson, Eloise Nicoll and Alice Wright, a first place for Oliver Johnson (U17 men) and Elishka Coupar (U17 women) and a third place (vets men) for Dave Carter. Paul Whelpton and Andrew Haig were in familiar territory as first M60 and first M70 respectively.

The Jog Shop (20M) Jog
Sun 11 Oct 2015
This was widely publicised as the last running of this event in it's 24th year. Including many of the most challenging features of the downland route (The Cliff, The Snake. The Yellow Brick Road, The Big W) this is one tough run. Coach Malcolm Kemp had never attempted it before but decided to enter at the last moment with training for only half that distance under his belt.
In the event he did remarkably well Coming 48th out of 110 finishers in a time of 3:13:34 (3rd M60)
