Thursday Club Run

You now have two Thursday options

1. An alternative to the longer Thursday run for newer members not confident in running 6miles+ or a recovery run after a tough Wednesday session. A social paced 5k run, mostly along the sea front, linking up with the RuntheLanes group from the FMG project gym in Kensington Street, North Laines. The run is guided by leaders from FMG. Coffee & or beer often available afterwards. Just turn up at 6pm and be ready to begin at 6.15pm. Toilets available and bags can be left in the gym at the owners risk.  Ideal for those wanting to run/cycle to FMG and run/cycle/bus home. What3words location ///keys.care.assume

2. a medium distance run – in the summer on the Downs and in the winter on the streets. The distances vary between 6.5 and 8.5 miles. To accommodate runners of all abilities we deploy a 'run-back' system with faster runners returning to the back of the group at intervals ensuring that no one runs alone. In addition, slower runners can take a shortcut if they need one. The starting points vary in the summer and leave from Withdean Stadium in the winter but always (unless notified otherwise) at 6:30pm. There are always  designated run leaders for each session and their contact details together with route maps are published beforehand. Starting points can be located using what3words.com

Although there are no longer any mandatory COVID-19 restrictions please  don't attend any session if you or other member of your household have had a fever, cough, or loss of sense of taste or smell or other possible COVID-19 symptom in the past fortnight.

Please consider wearing a light and / or hi-viz clothing on winter runs for safety.
