Phoenix Parkrun Round-Up (5th November 2022)
Monday 7th November 2022
Welcome to this week's Phoenix Parkrun Round-Up in which we take a look at the achievements of club members at parkrun from the weekend. From PBs to milestones to parkrun tourism, this is a chance to celebrate both personal achievement and the joy of running!
If your achievement isn't listed below then that likely means you don't have Brighton Phoenix listed as your club on parkrun! We use the parkrun website, the Club Strava page and www.thepowerof10.info to search out performances and stories. If you have an achievement you want to shout about then reach out to Billy Gates on WhatsApp.
We're particularly interested in receiving photos of Phoenix runners at parkruns to include in these articles too - PB or not!
Personal Bests
Congratulations to 5 members on achieving a parkrun PB!
- Stella Gambie: 22:25 (Preston Park)
- Jonathan Martin: 17:08 (Preston Park) his 3rd PB in as many months!
- Pete Goodman: 19:07 (Hove Promenade)
- Jacky Miller: 20:02 (Hove Promenade) her 13th parkrun PB this year alone!
- Ben Power: 18:12 (Preston Park)
Jacky tells us more about her drive to keep improving: "I think it's the desire to push myself to see what I can do; see what is actually possible. Also, being a member of Phoenix has definitely encouraged this too. I follow a lot of athletes and they say about not limiting yourself so I'm trying to follow that mantra. I also teach sport to children and I'm always encouraging them to challenge themselves. I want to be a role model to them as well as my own children. Yesterday, I loved the run in the cooler weather and the rain, although a little breezy still. My body felt more confortable running at the faster pace and I hope to go sub-20 in the next week or so."
Pete simply reacts to his PB with: "🤯"
