Cross country league round-up

The Cross Country season came to a close with the final Sussex Cross Country League race at Hickstead on Saturday.

Phoenix returned with an array of individual and team medals....

The Phoenix females managed a consistent turn out throughout the four races; the U13 & U15 Girls teams finished in silver and bronze positions respectively with Alice Wright taking individual U13 girls bronze and Almi Nerurkar silver (U15 girls). The Senior Women, however, won the second division earning them a promotion to the first.

Not to be outshone, The Senior Men came first in the race, leaving them 5th overall in the League. The Veteran men won bronze with three well deserved individual medals; Dave Carter clinched the silver in the over 40 category whilst gold went to Paul Whelpton (over 60s) and Andrew Haig (over 70s). All 3 have showed consistent performances throughout the season and this is the second year Paul has won the title.
