Andy Bone from Marathon to Park Run

Thursday 10th May 2012

Fresh (or should that be tired) from giving the 3 hour barrier another seeing to in the Marathon – this time Brighton rather than London – Andy Bone stepped up to see what he could do over the rather shorter distance of 5k at Brighton and Hove Park Run last weekend.

Andy is a fine example of how far you can get on strength training, pulling away from the field of over 300 on the second lap to come home in a very fine 18.09 for a V45, but more importantly taking the win. Its hard enough winning this race as a senior but to do it as a V45 off the back of the marathon shows what can be done if you put your mind to it.
