Phoenix athletes at the British Championships

3 Phoenix athletes were finalists at the British Championships in Manchester this weekend.

George Mills, now training in Germany with ON Running, negotiated his heat of the 1500 on Friday night with 2nd place in 3:49.42 for an automatic place in the final. But in an incredibly high-class final, he finished 5th in 3:41.98.

Beth Kidger, in a wind affected 5000m, ran strongly to finish 11th of 17 in 15:56.87, not far off her Personal best and club record. Afterwards she reflected on a good performance, finishing ahead of several excellent athletes.

Toby Harries, was 3rd in his 200m heat with a non-legal 20.73, due to a 4.1m/sec following wind in the home straight, but secured his place in the final. The wind dropped slightly in the final, where Toby came home in 6th with a wind legal time of 20.80, very close to his best.
