Ross of the North
The iconic Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world. Started by Olympian and Commentator Brendan Foster, it is now in its 37th year.
This year (9th September) some 57000 athletes ran the 13.1 miles between Newcastle & South Shields.
The one and only Mo Farah made record history by taking his 5th consecutive win in 59:26. Up amongst the elite athletes was Phoenix's Ross Skelton (look out for him by Mo on the start line). Ross showed his class as a distance runner by finishing in a very respectable 20th in 01:09:53.
Well done also to Andrew Hassan & Simon Beesforth who finished 1182nd & 3989th.
