Man Down Under
Phoenix’s Charlie Grice competed in the 21st Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast, Australia. He was selected as one of the 103 athletes who represented England.
Competing in the 1500 metres he improved his performance finishing in 3:47:19 in the heat and 3:37:43 in the final.
Alas, a medal was agonisingly just out of reach; he was with the lead group until the last 150 metres when Scotland's Jake Whightman found a boost of pace. Finishing only 2 seconds ahead of Charlie, this was enough to place him fourth.
