Phoenix 10k

Wednesday July 12th saw the annual Phoenix 10k. This is a fast, flat course, starting on Hove Lawns, out to Carrotts café and back. Don't let the July date fool you - there is always a strong wind, this year against the runners on the finishing strait.

Part of the Sussex Grand Prix and County 10k Championships the race is always full and well supported by Phoenix members.

This year some 32 members ran (33 including Florence in the push chair!) with no less than 8 pbs (Sam Wade, Alex Cruttenden, Tom Hooper, Will Russell, Pete Goodman, Kathryn Harnett, Hildi Mitchell, Judith Mathews).

A huge well done to Finn McNally for finishing second in 30:58, just behind South London's Kevin Quinn who finished first in 30:54.
