Nigel nails the triple!

Well done to Nigel Herron for finishing a very respectable 8th in the Portsmouth Duathlon series. Competing in 3 duathlons over the last 3 months, Nigel's combined efforts placed his 8th in the series, the first time he has competed in this event.

Nigel says "The races spaced out over 3 months was a good way to measure improvements. The race distances increased with each event, although all of them were weighted towards runners as the bike segments were relatively short. The events were all well organised and marshalled with chip timing giving instant results The runs were all on Southsea prom and early starts meant the roads were quiet for the bike. The first two were particularly windy days, but that added to the challenge. If you don't mind an early start and a drive to Southsea, this is a good series to take part in, especially if you are a runner who can bike a bit"

Next year there is a series a month earlier - here's to Nigel's winter training ready for a February duathlon!

Overall results
Race 1: 1:08:53: 5km run, 15km cycle, 5km run
Race 2: 1:28:10: 7.5km run 17.5km cycle 5km run
Race 3: 1:47:17: 10km run 24km cycle 5km run
