Hot in the city
They trained all winter in the cold and wind only to run the Brighton marathon on the hottest day this year so far!
Brighton marathon is now in its 7th year of challenging runners whilst raising thousands of pounds for charities. Incorporating the Brighton 10k and Mini-miles, plus amazing support from a 150,000 strong crowd, this race has become a true festival of running. Some 12,000 marathon runners attacked the course in temperatures that reached 20C - harder still when you consider most training would have been done in the cold. A huge congratulations to Phoenix's Jon Pepper who finished in bronze position with a time of 2:31:56:39, only 24 seconds behind the silver medal.
There was further success in the 10k, with Finn McNally finishing in silver position in a time of 30:35:94.
Congratulations to all those who competed in the mini-mile races especially Madeleine Badruzaman (2nd U11 girl) and Joe Checkley & Sam Checkley (3rd and 4th U13 boys).

Results do not mention club affiliation, so well done to all Phoenix runners!
