Indoors challenge
Whilst those in Nottingham were contending with the mud and cold, a group of Phoenix junior athletes travelled further north to compete in the warm and dry conditions at the English national indoor U15/U17/U20 championships.
In a very competitive U17 300m heat Louisa Saunders recorded 41.45secs. In the final of the U17 800m Maia Hardman was 5th in 2:17.71. In the final of the U20 1500 Josh Eeles finished 6th recording a pb of 3:57.37. In the heats of the U20 men's 800 Oliver Johnston ran 1:58.10 and Harry Swindells 2:01.27.
All athletes had done very well to qualify for this event and will have benefited and learnt from the experience of competing in a national championship.
Thanks Bruce for this report.
