League wide open

The Sussex Cross Country League saw the 3rd of its 4 races on Saturday December 3rd. Held this time at Stanmer Park, the league table continues to be wide open; after 3 races team and individual winners are usually clear however this year the results are still inconclusive.

Of note are the Senior men who are currently leading their group having taken the lead from Brighton & Hove who have won this for the last 10 years. It was very good to see a resurgence in the Phoenix women who got a record number of runners out, with 2 teams in the Vets league and 6 teams in division 1 & 2 and 1 in U17.

Team standings so far:

U11 girls: well done to 5th place Annalise Brown.
U11 boys: nice team work with 6th, 7th, 8th position (William Muzio, Ben Burnett, James Fonteyn)

U13 girls have the B team 5th & A team 6th whilst the boys are placed 7th & 18th.
U15 girls saw Alice Wright finish 3rd to place them 2nd & 7th in the league whilst Leo Brewer finished 4th. U15 boys are placed 5th & 15th in the league.
U17 women are placed 3rd whilst the U17 men are 7th.
Senior women are currently 3rd in division 1 and have 5 teams in division 2.
Senior men: Robbie Fitzgibbon was pipped at the post to finish second helping to place the team 1st in division 1. They have 1st, 2nd and 4th positions in division 3.
Vet women are placed 7th & 16th and Vet men 3rd, 7th & 11th.

Next & final race: Saturday 11th February, Hickstead Showground.
