Punching within their wieght

The Puncheur is a local cycling challenge that encourages the cyclists to keep up a steady pace over a staggering 65miles of short climbs and long, flat drags. Finishing with the gruelling 1700m climb up to Ditchling Beacon, this is as much about pacing yourself as it is speed and endurance. Finishing in under 4 hours for men & 4 hours 20 for women wins you a gold. Inside of 4.5 hours (men) and 4hours 50 (women) places you silver. Finishing within 5 hours (men) and 5 hours 20 (women) gives you bronze. You don't have to finish within these times to take part.

Helmets off then to the 8 brave Phoenix cyclists who took on this event and finished within the gold, silver and bronze times;

Gold: John Marinko, Bob Novis, Andy bone, Glenn Church.
Silver: Jon Wright, Mike Townley, Geoff Pike.
Bronze: Jon Pike.
