A marathon weekend!

As Brighton hosted its sixth Marathon weekend, tales of Phoenix athletes' fine performances are emerging.

Incorporating the Brighton Marathon, 10k and the Mini Mile races, some 10,000 runners competed in this prestigious event. Phoenix is proud to congratulate all the runners who took part, especially those whose names are amongst the medals.

Mini Milers
In race 12, U15 Girls, Phoenix had a 1,2,3 thanks to the fantastic running of Almi Nerurkah, Maia Hardman and Holly Luscombe.
It was golds for the Muzios in the U11 Girls' races with Emily powering through to take the top spot despite falling at the start and Ciara winning in race 6. In Race 3 U11 Boys Joe Checkley also took the gold.

Well done to Charlotte Matthews who finished 2nd in race 12, U18 Girls.

Good work also to those finishing in bronze position: race 15 (U13 girls) Eloise Nicholl, race 14 (U13 Boys) Joel Luscombe. race 7 (U11 Boys) Ellis Martin & Anna Berry (U18 Girls).

10k
The 10k saw Ben Tickner finish 4th in 29:25 with Jon Pepper & Ross Skelton 13th & 14th/ Ross pulled a personal best out of the bag.

Marathon
Pbs galore in the marathon - of especial note Tom Sanderson completed the marathon in 2:59:13 to finish 95th & Mark Cossey completing his first marathon in 3:00:39 to finish 110. Further pbs for Paul Lawrence, James Rae & Gill Checkley with Joel Kidger & Jose Luceron also making their debut.
