Best ever result at the Nationals

Parliament Hill was the setting for the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday, 21 February.

8 Phoenix athletes ran the 12km course in a field of 2000. Ben Tickner, fresh from his Southern Champion win, led the Phoenix charge finishing fifth, the best Phoenix senior result to date. This record was previous held by Jon Pepper who came 7th last year. Jon Pepper finished this year in 28th with Ross Skelton 48th in what is being called his break through run. Josh Guilmant, James McCarthy, Donald Macellan, Patrick Acaye & Paul Wier completed the team (pictured)

The team finished 9th overall, their best ever result, and it is understood that was achieved with half the team missing through injury.
