Phoenix Athletes show their class on the UK stage
Young Phoenix Athletes had an awesome weekend competing in events around the country, ensuring their UK rankings.
Finn Bigg ran a pb of 51.06 400m to win in the New Year's Open at Cardiff. This ranks him 2 in UK U20s category.
In the South of England U15/U17 indoor champs., Marina Reid Martin continued her reign finishing 5th in the U17 Long Jump.
Further success was seen in the 800m with Maia Hardman finishing 3rd in the heat with a PB of 2.27.98 and fith in the final with another PB of 2.27.60. This now ranks Maia 9th in the UK.
Louisa Saunders picked up a fantastic Bronze medal in the 300m U 15 girls finishing second in the heat in 44.73 only to beat this in the final, finishing 3rd with a PB of 43.81.This ranks her 5th in the UK.
Coach Roy Hayward says: "There was a strong field in this event. Well done to all those who took part - a fantastic achievement."
