Force required to take fourth win

Jon Pepper faced not only gruelling conditions but fierce opposition from Phoenix team mate Ben Tickner to take his fourth consecutive victory in the Sussex Cross Country Championships, Bexhill. This places him 4th in the all time standing - ahead of Steve Ovett and Tim Hutchings.

Jon & Ben led from the start and despite the very slippery conditions, following a day of stormy weather, managing to hold their places. It took to the fourth lap before Jon pulled the lead, winning by just 3 seconds. They were followed by the Sam Wade (7th) and Josh Guilmant (8th) to claim first place in the league for the Phoenix Men's A team.

Congratulations to Almi Nerurkar for her win in the U15 girls' race. Although a favourite to win she finished in style, 58 seconds ahead of the field.
U20 men victor Billy White also deserves a mention, finishing first in 32:57.
