Good in the wood

Saturday 18th October saw the true start of the cross country season with the first of the Brooks Sussex League fixtures at Goodwood.
The course, which takes in parts of the wood and the Sussex Downs, treated the Phoenix athletes well with the luxury of running in fairly dry conditions.
With a reported 550 finishers competition was fierce and Phoenix athletes shone across the board. Well done to all the runners, especially to the following athletes for coming in the top 10 of their races.
A special mention to Almi Nerurkar, first by over 30 seonds, & Jon Pepper for his second league win - that's 2 in a row for Jon who came first in last week's Surry league!
