Bob Novis: World Champ

September 11 - 15th saw London host the Pru Health World Triathlon Grand Final. Using an identical course and venue to the Olympic Games, around 5000 athletes raced.

Athletes for the world championship races qualified in order to race. Phoenix's own Bob Novis, racing in the 60-64 age category, qualified in the Nottingham Triathlon in June.

With a 750 m swim, a 20 km bicycle and a 5 km run Bob stormed to the finish in London to become World champ in 1.13.45 (splits below).

This adds to many other titles such as his gold in the 2007 ITU World Triathlon in Germany and title of British Triathlon Age Group Athlete of the year in 2002. This year alone he's won his age group in a whole string of races including the Worthing 20M race (March). He came 7th overall at Arundel Triathlon short course (May), 2nd at the Wealdon Manic Triathlon (August) and 4th overall at Ringmer Triathlon (August).... a true Champ!
