The Phoenix Has Risen

Just months after being overlooked for the UK team for the European Indoor Championships Charlie Grice has been picked for the 1500m spot in the UK team for the European Team Championships.

This comes a week after he ran a pb of 3:38:13 in the IAAF match at Hengelow in Holland putting him 2nd on this years UK rankings, 50th on the UK all time lists for seniors, 3rd on the Phoenix all time lists and 7th on uk all time U23 list

At just 19 years old Charlie is now the UK's number 1 choice for 1500m.

This is a significant moment in our club's history and represents a lot of hard work from not just Charlie but also a major input from his coach Jon Bigg and all those others at the club who have supported Charlie – specifically Dave Howe, Paul Collicutt, Joel Kidger and Tim Bayley.

The Phoenix has risen!
