Olympic medal for Toby !

Brighton Phoenix's Toby Harries, wakes up today as an Olympic Bronze medallist. He ran for Team GB in the first heat and helped the team to beat USA and qualify for the final. Along with Sam Reardon he was replaced for the final in which GB won the bronze, but as a member of the team he received his own medal alongside the others on the rostrum in the Stade de France.

Anyone who has been following Toby's Olympic journey on his Instagram account will be familiar with his work ethic in his Belgium training base and will be as delighted as all Phoenix members that not only did he get selected, but also brings home that precious medal.

Alongside Toby in the Olympic team was Phoenix George Mills and as he noted on his instagram account, it wasnt the games that he'd hoped for, but nonetheless, he remains a hero to Brighton Phoenix members.

Lastly a mention for Amber Anning of Brighton & Hove City AC, who also won a bronze medal in the 4x400 with an amazing 400m split time. Its worth recalling that Amber first ran at a young age with Andy Bone's group at Brighton Phoenix, so there is a Phoenix element to her story too !
