Double for Phoenix and Double for George

Enormous congratulations are in order, because two Phoenix athletes have been selected for one of sports highest honours, a place in the GB Olympic team !

Toby Harries makes the 4x400 squad and George Mills doubles-up in the 1500m & 5000m.

George made no secret of his desire to race in both events and was ranked 2nd Briton in the 5000m over the Qualifying period, meaning that he only needed to run the 1500m at the GB Trials to secure selection, knowing it was highly likely his 12:58 time would mean selection also for the 5000.

Toby, who has been documenting his build-up to the Olympics on his instagram account, received the good news today, that his amazing 4x400 leg in the World Relays together with his 5th place in the GB trials 400m has earned him a place on the Olympic team for Paris.
