PB night at Eltham BMC

800 metre PB's for Adam Dray, Alice Wright, Steve Atkinson

A big night for Phoenix athletes at the Eltham British Milers Club meeting on 17th August.

Adam Dray continued his fine form this summer, when he took 2 seconds off his personal best in a very fast 800 metre heat, to go under 1min 50 secs for the first time, with a fantastic 1:49.41.

Alice Wright, a week after going to the top of the UK Under 20 rankings in the 1500 metres, ran 3 seconds inside her 800m personal best winning her race in 2:07:68 to go 6th in the U20 rankings and close to the World Under 20 Championships standard.

Racing alongside Alice was UK 50+ Age group Champion and World Championship finalist, Steve Atkinson. Steve is now in the 55+ category and he recorded his second best time of the summer finishing 2nd, well ahead of the rest of the field, in 2:08:81.to remain 2nd in the UK 55+ rankings.

Flora Davis, returning to 800m racing after a long injury absence, made good progress taking 5 seconds off her opening race of the season, with a 2:27.7 giving her plenty of confidence as the track season comes to an end.
