SGP Round Four: Horsham 10k

Another great day's work from our men and women at the Horsham 10K on May 22nd established us as firm favourites to retain the Sussex Grand Prix League title once again this year.

 Stuart Roberts claimed an outstanding first ever race win in the Horsham 10K on Sunday May 22nd – very impressive for an athlete just short of his 47th birthday! His winning time was an excellent 36:23 on the hilly multiterrain course. Stuart was followed home in second place by George Kirkpatrick making his Phoenix debut. With 10 PHX male runners  including 5 in the first 13 male finishers, and 8 women including 5 in the first 12  female finishers, we picked up the  male and female team prizes on the day and look sure to  secure top spot in  race Sussex Grand Prix league rankings  by a country mile.

Coming after previous excellent perfomances at the Hastings Half, Haywards Heath 10 and Hastings 5, we now look well on course to retaining the Sussex Grand Prix title this year. Maintaining a good turnout is crucial though, so please sign up for any of the remaining fixtures for the SGP League that you can make , every senior PHX member  (whatever their standard) that turns out will improve our position in the league table.
