Grice joins Mills in GB squad for World Indoors

Thursday 3rd March 2022

Charlie Da'Vall Grice has become the second Brighton Phoenix athlete to earn selection for the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade later this month, joining George Mills in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team.

Grice has worn the Phoenix vest for his entire elite career and has been the club's most consistent performer at elite level since he won bronze at the Summer Youth Olympics in 2010.

After Elliot Giles, who trains locally with Jon Bigg, won the World Indoor Tour series 800m in Madrid, a spare spot came up for the team - as he qualifies with a wildcard. That has allowed Grice to join Giles in the team heading to Serbia,  having recently clocked 3:38.00 in the 1500m at a race in Boston.

Mills will be making his senior international debut when he pulls on the British vest in the 1500m.

The event takes place between 18-20 March and will be broadcast across the BBC.
