Mike excels at the Ultra

Mike Townley ran the 22nd London to Brighton trail run on Sunday 5 September, coming a magnificent seventh out of 106 finishers. (The event was won in 8:32). His time for the 56-mile distance was 9 hours 50 minutes – well within his target. He seems to have enjoyed the experience enormously with just one moment of doubt at 36 miles when an anxious marshal asked if he was feeling all right. That was enough to spur him on his way.
