Hastings conquered
Phoenix came and conquered at the Hastings 5mile on 8th May. Part of the Sussex Grand Prix event, Phoenix took 4 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze and a new course record.
Ross Skelton ran a storming race to finish in first position in 24:33. Not only is this the third year he has won gold but this year he broke the course record. We are waiting on confirmation if this is the fastest 5mile road time this year. Close on his heels was Patrick Acaye who took the bronze in 27:57 and Paul Weir who finished 11th in 30:02. This placed the Senior men as 1st Team.
Further success was seen with golds for Terry Avey (M65) and Andrew Haig (M70). Terry continues his form whilst Andrew looks like he was never away after his operation. Taking silver in the M50 category was Nigel Herron and Malcolm Kemp (M65).
