Torrential rain and gusty winds made sure conditions were anything but perfect for the Portsmouth 50km Ultra race on December 20th.
Undeterred Phoenix's Darryl Hards* finished in ultra style with a time of 3:16:24, some 15 minutes ahead of the second place runner. Not bad for his first race at this distance!
*Darryl has just rejoined Phoenix for first claim. Welcome back Darryl!

In the marathon distance event held consecutively we had excellent performances from two of our other ultra specialists.
Brian Friend was 4th O60 coming 199th in a time of 3:54:44. Andy Pumphry came 345th in 4:14:38. Andy had flown in from holiday in Lanzarote at 4AM and then gone straight of to Portsmouth to run this. Impressive!
