One of our young athletes, Charlotte Matthews, has competed this year in the British Series and tried to get a place for next year in the Elite squad. She has faced very stiff competition and just been pipped to the post which is a big disappointment for her. Nevertheless she is still working hard. Charlotte is 15.

She competed in the Senior Super Sprint at Hever Castle on Saturday 26th (adult event).

Shefinished asthe Senior 3rd female! Was third out of the swim and thatjust shows her how tough the British series competition is as it is her swim speed that she has struggled with (a relative term).

Charlotte's Mum, Jude also competed in this event and finished 8th in V50 category. Jude says "although we were in the same [start] wave I saw nothing of her once we got into the freezing lake".

Charlotteloved the course and was pleased to end the season on a bit of a high where she has done well as a child in previous years.
