Mathews on a mission

Charlotte Mathews has had a busy month competing in the South England Triathlon & Hyde Park Youth Aquathon....

Charlotte Mathews competed in another Triathlon in East Grinstead on 18th May. The event was the first in the South East England triathlon Series. Charlotte stayed true to form finishing 3rd overall in a time of 31:27. She will be hoping to at least maintain her position on the leader board as the series progresses. Next race for her in this series will be the Bridge Triathlon in Dartford later in June.

On Saturday 31st May Charlotte competed in the Youth Aquathlon in Hyde Park London. She had a lot to do after a tough swim when she left the Serpentine in last (28th) place. A speedy transition gained her 2 places and out on the run she overtook 3 more competitors to cross the finish line in 23rd. The highlights for Charlotte were possibly diving into the Serpentine from about the same spot on the pontoon that Alistair Brownlee stood on a few hours later, and that final finish stretch on the blue carpet where she got her medal!
