Full on at the marathon

Fantastic running by Almi Nerukar who came 1st in the U13 mini marathon in 17.05, 12 seconds clear of second place in what is reported to be a new course record.

As part of the London Marathon there are mini marathon races for the
countries best junior runner, which are run over the final three miles of
the marathon course. These races are between teams selected from regions
throughout England, as well as teams from Wales and Northern Ireland.
Therefore for Almi Nerurkar to be selected to represent The South East
region in the girls U13 race was a major achievement. Lining up against her
main rivals from the nation cross country races this year Almi ran her best
race to date, although she may have been beaten on the country she showed
that she is the boss on the road to win in 17:05, which was 12 secs ahead of
second place. In winning her first national race she set a new course record
and also led the south east team to victory. Well done Almi!
