Peppered with success

In one of the tightest finishes ever at the Chichester 10K Jon Pepper took second place. As the first Sussex runner across the line he now becomes County Champion.

It was a three-way battle to the line at the Chichester 10K race on February 9th with Phoenix's Jon Pepper coming second to Philip Wylie (Bristol) who won in 30:23 to Jon's 30:26. Third was Paul Whittaker (Southend) in 30:27. The event doubled as the county 10K championships and although those results have not yet been announced, as first Sussex runner home Jon will be county champion.

Huge congratulations to Jon and also to Bruce Warren (35:53) who is having a great stretch of form. He won the M50 race outright and of course the county championship in that category.
