Castle Conquered!

Charlotte Matthews competed in what is believed to be the world's largest ever Children's Triathlon at Hever Castle on Saturday 28th September.

Charlotte competed in the 13-15 age group and came in 12th place overall and 1st girl with a finish time of 58:34. The setting was delightful; a lake swim (300m) followed by a woody and hilly cycle ride (8km) and ending with a cross country run (4km).

Coming out of the lake Charlotte had a bit of a struggle with the wetsuit zip, but she overcame this with a fast cycle ride making up quite a few places to be in 4th female position at the start of the run. A fast T2 and Charlotte was off into her strongest discipline when she was able to run into first placed girl in her Wave. With a second wave of 13-15yr olds and some technical problems with the chip timing the final results were not out until Monday evening.
