Phoenix Athletics and Triathlon club

Join Phoenix

Senior athletes ( age 17 and over)

You are welcome to come along to training sessions for two or three weeks to see whether you will be happy at the club. If you then decide to join, we will ask you to complete a membership application form( see below), which should be returned to the Membership Secretary together with the appropriate fee. All athletes must be members if they wish to continue training with and competing for the club.

Junior athletes ( age 9 to 17)

Contact Malcolm Kemp the club's coaching director to discuss the best time to come down to the club.

* Please note  To be fair to everyone, members, coaches, and those waiting to join the club,  we introduced a minimum racing commitment for our junior members some time ago,  the club are now looking to enforce this with consequences - including declining to renew membership - for juniors who fail to meet the minimum racing commitment of three winter races and three summer races per year (without good reason). Please note that although we like to see all members competing this specific requirement only applies to those in the U13 age group and above, not the U11s.

Annual subscriptions are:

  • Seniors ( 17 and over): £45
  • Junior (under 17), full-time students and unwaged: £35

Membership does not currently include entry to Withdean Stadium on training nights,  the admission charge is set by the stadium management. This is under negotiation and should change shortly, and our new membership flat rates of £45/£35 have been set to include free access to our  main track training sessions  (Wednesdays 5.30pm-8pm)

Membership is renewable in March or September, depending on when you join.

Any athlete aged 11 or over who wishes to compete as a First Claim member in UKA sanctioned events must be registered by the club with England Athletics who will then send a licence to each individual athlete. We are required to notify England Athletics of the athlete’s name, gender, date of birth and address. We are assured that personal data will not be shared with third parties without the athlete’s express consent. The fee will now be included in the annual subscription fees above from March 2012.

Please print out the PDF, complete and send with a cheque to the Membership Coordinator.
